Summary: This dictionary is based on the Functional Active Vocabulary of Cuban Schoolchildren. This is a reference book for students, teachers and people in general. It addresses spelling, usage of regular and irregular verbs, and other grammatical issues of interest. The dictionary contains major English spelling rules. In the dictionary, the morphemes that make up words are highlighted. It was printed in Italy in 1999 and reprinted in 2001. The first and second print runs soon sold out due to the book’s favourable reception from professors, teachers and people in general. Two scientific articles on this book have been published. The dictionary was compiled in collaboration with Spanish language scholars from the Genoa section of the Institute of Computational Linguistics of Pisa, Italy.
