Employees of the Center for Applied Linguistics and their relatives visited Fidel´s house in Birán, in the province of Holguín as well as the Mangos de Baraguá Monument, located near Santiago de Cuba. It was an excellent occasion to pay homage to two outstanding figures of our history: Fidel Castro Ruz and Antonio Maceo Grajales who, in spite of belonging to two different periods, they were both characterized by their revolutionary principles and devotion to the homeland. Foreign students attending the Spanish Language and Cuban Culture Course were invited to the visit, which gave them the opportunity to be aware of relevant features of these two great heroes and of the history of Cuba in general.
