The dictionary is based on a study of various dictionaries and the general vocabulary used in these countries, and on surveys among scholars and Spanish-speaking people from the abovementioned nations.\u00a0Words, noun, verb and adverbial phrases, as well as a number of idioms were carefully selected taking into consideration their importance and relevance. This dictionary has 9,000 entries and 22,000 definitions. Each definition includes a sentence to better appreciate the function and precise meaning of the headword and its variants in each country in the region.
