Interactive Multimedia for the Development of Vocabulary in Primary and Secondary Education Students.

Abstract: The project Interactive Multimedia for the Development of Vocabulary in Primary and Secondary Education Students is based on the creation of a technological tool able to combine results from two research projects conducted by the CLA, These projects led to significant achievements and included especially the creation of enjoyable and instructive practical exercises designed for students from the aforementioned educational levels.

Exercises range from simple to complex ones, and the didactic and psychological values they convey are directed to entertain and, at the same time, contribute to consolidate the knowledge acquired. This aim is achieved with the creativity prevailing in anagrams and puzzles, rhymed riddles, relay races, colour puzzles, and many other exercises that help to practice mental agility. The multimedia also provides knowledge of geographical, biological, historical and other aspects of life, being a fundamental educational tool for achieving interdisciplinarity and helping students to understand many of the words they usually find in their text books. It, indeed, enriches students´ vocabulary and strengthens their knowledge about the different subjects making up the syllabuses of all grades.
