The Centre for Applied Linguistics (CLA) was visited on April 2010 by Doctor Lina Dominguez, Cuban Vice-Minister of Sciences, Technology and Environment.
During the meeting with CLA’s directives and researchers, the Vice-Minister evaluated the progress of projects being conducted by this scientific institution, and the preparations for the 12th International Symposium on Social Communication, a conference having a high profile at national and international levels and that is scheduled to take place in January 2011. The Vice- Minister also had an exchange with young researchers that recently joined the centre’s staff.
Finally, Mrs. Dominguez was given a copy of the recent third edition of the Diccionario Básico Escolar, drawn by lexicographers of this teaching centre. (April 2010)
