Abstract: This book is based on an inventory of spelling errors from 2,500 compositions written by junior high students from across the country. The book contains paragraphs from the Cuadernos Martianos and from textbooks used in seventh, eighth and ninth grades. The words under study are extracted from those paragraphs. In addition to the characteristics of primary education methodology, this book includes the etymology of many of the selected words. Besides, it contains practical exercises with anagrams and didactic games to rearrange letters to make words. Seminars have been successfully given for junior high school professors in the municipality of Santiago de Cuba. The whole book was written and edited by the Centre for Applied Linguistics.
