{"id":1461,"date":"2019-02-05T14:12:29","date_gmt":"2019-02-05T14:12:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.cla.cu\/clanuevo\/?p=1461"},"modified":"2019-02-15T21:12:07","modified_gmt":"2019-02-15T21:12:07","slug":"celebrado-el-xvi-simposio-internacional-de-comunicacion-social-del-centro-de-linguistica-aplicada","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cla.cu\/clanuevo\/en\/2019\/02\/05\/celebrado-el-xvi-simposio-internacional-de-comunicacion-social-del-centro-de-linguistica-aplicada\/","title":{"rendered":"Sixteenth International Symposium on Social Communication held in Santiago de Cuba"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Sixteenth International Symposium on Social Communication, sponsored by the Center for Applied Linguistics, was held from January 21 to 25 this year, with the participation of 135 Cuban experts and 93 foreign experts from 20 countries.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Two pre-symposium courses were taught by Prof. Philippe Humbl\u00e9, from the Free University of Brussels, Belgium and Prof. Mikel Iruskieta, from the University of the Basque Country.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The opening lecture given by Prof. Francisco Jos\u00e9 Cantero Serena, from the University of Barcelona, entitled <em>An\u00e1lisis Pros\u00f3dico del Habla: m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de la melod\u00eda<\/em> (Prosodic Analysis of Speech: Beyond Melody) caused a great impact on participants due to the quality and current relevance of his research, as well as his charisma and eloquence. Prof. Anton Nihjolt, from the University of Twente, in the Netherlands, impressed with his novel conference related to humor and comedy made by robots.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The book <em>Estudios de Lexicolog\u00eda y Lexicograf\u00eda. <\/em><em>Homenaje a Elo\u00edna Miyares Berm\u00fadez<\/em> (Lexicology and Lexicography Studies. A Tribute to Elo\u00edna Miyares Berm\u00fadez) was presented on January 22, by Prof. Lirian Astrid, from the University of Valle in Colombia. This work brings together works of various specialists in the field and pays a heartfelt tribute to whom did, for so many years, a meritorious work aimed at the correct use of the mother tongue and in the organization of these events. On that same day, the exhibition <em>Los carteles de los Simposios Internacionales de Comunicaci\u00f3n Social<\/em> (The posters of the International Symposia on Social Communication), curated by Marta Mosquera, National Design Award winner, was inaugurated.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In addition, Cuban and foreign experts discussed their research in six work commissions. The two workshops run by experts from the San Bernardino State University of California, United States, in the Education and Communication Commission, stood out. Their moderator was Enrique Murillo, Jr., PhD.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Each commission awarded a prize to the paper that stood out the most for its contribution, novelty, originality, applications and the quality of its methods:<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Commission No. 1: Linguistics<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Construcci\u00f3n, exploraci\u00f3n y an\u00e1lisis en un corpus de producciones escolares<\/em> (Construction, exploration and analysis in a corpus of school productions) by Paola Cutugno, Melissa Ferretti and Lucia Marconi, from Italy.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Commission No. 2: Linguistics<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>\u00bfQu\u00e9 es el conocimiento terminol\u00f3gico? Una propuesta te\u00f3rica para su estudio a lo largo de la inserci\u00f3n disciplinar<\/em> (What is terminological knowledge? A theoretical proposal for its study throughout discipline insertion) by Sabela Fern\u00e1ndez-Silva, from Chile.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Commission No. 3: Art, Ethnology and Folklore<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Tantos a\u00f1os y yo nunca pude ir a la escuela: Lecciones de vida en las narrativas de los migrantes de retorno nayaditas<\/em> (So many years and I could never go to school: Life lessons in the narratives of return migrants from Nayarit) by Jos\u00e9 Luis Quintero Carrillo, from Mexico.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>\u00a0Commission No. 4: Mass Media<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Recepci\u00f3n en Twitter de un debate presidencial televisivo a trav\u00e9s de la herramienta Tepic modelling<\/em> (Reception of a televised presidential debate on Twitter through the Tepic modelling tool) by Cristian Gonz\u00e1lez Arias, from Chile.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Commission No. 5: Education and Communication<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>An\u00e1lisis del aprendizaje en la formaci\u00f3n en l\u00ednea: metodolog\u00eda y resultados del Curso de Capacitaci\u00f3n Ling\u00fc\u00edstica de la Universidad Polit\u00e9cnica de Valencia<\/em> (Analysis of learning in online training: methodology and results of the Linguistic Training Course of the Polytechnic University of Valencia) by Francesca Romero, Miquel \u00c1ngel Oltra and Rosa Pardo, from Spain.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Commission No. 6\u00a0: Foreign Languages<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em>Apprendre une langue \u00e9trang\u00e8re gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 un dispositif num\u00e9rique d\u2019apprentissage. <\/em><em>L\u2019exemple de FLEURON<\/em> (To learn a foreign language through a digital learning device. The example of FLEURON) by Virginia Andr\u00e9, from France.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">During the event, various cultural activities were held. The participants had the opportunity to visit historical and cultural places of our city. The gala concert offered by <em>Todo incluido<\/em> (All Inclusive), a quartet of saxophones from the University of Arts of Havana, had a great quality and earned an ovation from the audience attending the Dolores Concert Hall.
